Last week at the NAIOP Chapter Leadership & Legislative Retreat Conference in Washington D.C., the Oregon chapter and its leadership picked up the two biggest national commercial real estate awards: “Chapter of the Year,” as well as “President of the Year,” which was awarded to Pacific NW Properties’ Evan Bernstein, who led the chapter to record high membership numbers, sponsorship partners, financial reserves, number of events and overall engagement and energy, amongst other accomplishments.
“We’ve had a lot of great leaders over my 17 years as Executive Director, but hands down, Evan is the best President we’ve ever had,” gushed Kelly Ross, who has staffed NAIOP Oregon since the early 2000’s.
NAIOP, which is the largest and most influential commercial real estate development trade organization in the USA is comprised of 52 chapters throughout America and Canada, and over 22,000 members, from developers, to brokers, investors, service providers, asset managers and other professionals in the commercial real estate industry.
“We’ve had a lot of great leaders over my 17 years as Executive Director, but hands down, Evan is the best President we’ve ever had!“
Winning both of these awards a huge honor on the national stage, and a direct reflection of a banner year for NAIOP Oregon in 2022. “It’s great to see Evan recognized for his tremendous work last year – and the entire Chapter recognized for its outstanding commitment to our members and our region,” said Greg Manning, a principal with Pioneer Project Partners and a past president of NAIOP. “Further, that recognition will help to rebuild Portland’s reputation in the eyes of the national development community. That may be the most important contribution of all.”
In addition to Bernstein serving as President of the chapter in 2022, PNWP’s Brad Stern chaired the Developing Leaders (DL) Board, which is made up of the top people under the age of 35. “I’m grateful for the hard work, dedication, and heart that Brad put into NAIOP,” stated Evan. “The industry has been so good to Pacific NW Properties over the years and it’s an honor for us to be able to give back!”
