In a Downtown Hilton ballroom packed with over 400 business leaders last month, Pacific NW Properties’ Evan Bernstein was named 2023 “Executive of the Year” by the Portland Business Journal.
Pacific NW Properties has posted impressive growth under Bernstein’s leadership, doubling its tenant count and tripling the number of properties it owns and manages.
“Evan has an unmatched work ethic and is probably the most ambitious person I’ve ever met,” stated Pacific NW Properties founder, Tom Stern. “He does an outstanding job on everything he touches … and then does more!”
In addition to his contributions to his company, Evan has given back so much to the community and industry, holding board positions on several non-profits, such as NAIOP, Revitalize Portland Coalition, and the Westside Economic Alliance. Earlier this year, as President of NAIOP Oregon, he led the 22,000- member trade organization to the two biggest honors on the national stage: “National Chapter of the Year,” as well as “National President of the Year.”

While the recent surge of honors and awards are nice, Evan has remained humble and appreciative: “They must have been extremely desperate this year,” he joked after the Business Journal recognition. “No, in all seriousness, it’s a wonderful honor – one that I share with my amazing family, our incredible team, and all of the people in my life who inspire me every day!”
